Change-Making Together
Transformational curricular change is large-scale and complex. It cannot be done by one organization or even one sector operating alone.
EOP brings together individuals and organizations from across the engineering system through the EOP Network. This impact-driven network enables different change agents to achieve together what they could not tackle alone. Since launching in 2021, the network has grown to more than 120 participants – a growth that is paced to ensure deep relationship-building among members.
Unlike a top-down organization, the network operates through a web of relationships. Participants actively shape the work of the EOP Network, identifying and pursuing projects and collaborations that further the network’s purpose, as described in the EOP Network Charter.
Fueled by multidisciplinary and multi-sector perspectives, participants identify and implement bold change efforts.
The EOP Network can accomplish far more than any single organization by leveraging collective expertise, resources, and diverse perspectives to address complex, global challenges. Such a network can lead to collaboration across industries, academia, government, and communities, enabling the sharing of best practices, innovative technologies, and scalable solutions that transcend individual capabilities.
Individuals from varied sectors and backgrounds are driving momentum toward Engineering for One Planet’s goal. Below are some examples of the projects EOP Network members have worked on, along with the tools and programs they have developed.
The EOP Network launched its new Student Ambassador Program in 2025, creating a powerful avenue for students to advocate for integrating social and environmental sustainability into engineering education. This student and faculty-developed program supports student change-makers. Click here to read about the first cohort of Student Ambassadors!

Faculty use the EOP Framework to modify their syllabi and create an open source guide with step-by-step recommendations for other educators. Click here to access the Guide!

Network members co-developed a guide to help students plan and prepare for careers focused on sustainability and engineering. Click here to access the guide!

Network members created a presentation toolkit and a program to support individuals to travel and present EOP at conferences and events.

Want to Support or Learn About the EOP Network?
The EOP Network is shaping engineering education. Not just talking about it or writing reports about it, but actually shaping it. We’re all about taking actions together. Actions may sometimes seem small, but like grains of sand, they add up to entire ecosystems.
